Spoločnosť Google vo štvrtok predstavila novú funkčnosť Voice Actions pre svoj mobilný operačný systém Android, ktorá umožňuje ovládať telefón pomocou hlasových príkazov.
Hlasové ovládanie sa aktivuje stlačením tlačidla nachádzajúceho sa pri vyhľadávacom widgete Google na úvodnej obrazovke.
Ovládanie hlasom je zatiaľ k dispozícii len v angličtine, podporuje celkom jedenásť rozličných príkazov. U všetkých príkazov je hneď za príkazom potrebné nadiktovať aj ďalšie údaje, napríklad komu poslať SMS alebo email, obsah SMS a emailu a podobne.
Podporovanými príkazmi sú:
"send text to [contact] [message]",
"listen to [artist/song/album]",
"call [business]",
"call [contact]",
"send email to [contact] [message]",
"go to [website]",
"note to self [note]",
"navigate to [location/business name]",
"directions to [location/business name]",
"map of [location]"
"set alarm for [time]".
Pri nadiktovaní textu nezačínajúceho príkazom sa spustí vyhľadávanie s nadiktovaným textom ako vyhľadávaným výrazom.
Tlačidlo pre hlasový vstup bolo pridané aj do aplikácie pre posielanie SMS a emailového klienta a z ich rozhrania je možné diktovať text správ.
Funkčnosť Voice Actions je k dispozícii len pre najnovšiu verziu Android 2.2.
